Everything you need to know about eligibility, rewards, charges, and card management

750 and above is what most banks want to see, but honestly it is not the end of the road if you are below that. There are entry-level and secured cards out there built specifically for people who are still working on their credit profile.

More people qualify than you would think. If you are freelancing, running your own business, or even a student, there are cards designed keeping you in mind. A regular salary is not always the deciding factor.

You can, nothing stops you. But doing it smartly matters more than doing it fast. Spreading applications across credit cards you actually qualify for works out better than applying everywhere and hoping something sticks.

It does, and more than most people realise. Every application you send triggers a hard inquiry on your credit report, and each one of those nudges your score down a little. Apply for two or three cards in a short stretch and those inquiries stack up fast. The safest approach is to apply only when you are reasonably confident you will get approved, and space out your applications rather than going all in at once.

Cashback is the simpler one. It comes back to you directly, either as account credit or a statement adjustment, no extra steps needed. Reward points require a bit more effort since you have to redeem them for vouchers, travel, or statement credit, and what they are actually worth varies from card to card.

Not quite. Most cards quietly exclude certain categories from earning, think fuel, rent, wallet loads, and government payments. It is one of those things that catches people off guard, so it is always worth reading the exclusions list on your specific card before assuming everything spent earns you reward points.

The joining fee is what most people look at, but that is just the beginning. Make sure you also look at the annual fee, interest rate, late payment charges, forex markup if you travel internationally, cash withdrawal fee, and how reward redemption actually works. Those numbers matter a lot more in the long run than the welcome bonus.

It hits you in two ways at once. You get charged late payment fees and interest immediately, and the missed payment gets reported to credit bureaus which pulls your CIBIL score down. The frustrating part is that even one missed payment can take several months to stop showing up on your report. Setting up an auto-pay for at least the minimum due is one of the easiest ways to avoid this entirely.

Completely free, always. Browse, compare, read reviews, and apply without ever being charged for anything. That is just how we work.

We do not issue cards. What we do is make it easier to find the right one by putting everything you need to compare in one place. When you are ready to apply, we send you straight to the bank's official page.

We keep a close eye on what banks are doing and update card details, fees, offers, and benefits regularly. The goal is that what you read here reflects what is actually out there right now, not what was true six months ago.

Never. We do not collect, store, or even see your financial information. Anything sensitive you fill in goes directly on the bank's own secure website, and it stays there.
